Active Membership is open to individuals engaged in any emergency medical service in South Carolina, whether as an employee or volunteer. This includes paramedics, emergency medical technicians, physicians, and other allied health professionals. Active members are eligible to vote, can be appointed to committees, may serve as Committee Chairpersons, and are eligible for election to the Board of Directors. Membership includes dual enrollment with NAEMT.
Associate Membership is designed for individuals who do not qualify for other membership levels but are interested in supporting the goals and objectives of SCEMSA. Associate members do not have voting rights and are not eligible for dual NAEMT membership.
Student Membership is available to individuals currently enrolled in an EMS certification program (EMT, AEMT, Paramedic) at the initiation of their membership. Upon completion of their education and certification, the remainder of their membership will transition to an Active Membership. This membership category is limited to one year and is available only once. Student members are also dually enrolled in SCEMSA and NAEMT.
