Statewide Recognition Campaign

Theme: Improving Outcomes, Together

During EMS Week 2026, the South Carolina EMS Association will highlight EMS professionals across South Carolina through a statewide recognition campaign. Each day of EMS Week will feature a designated recognition category, agency-submitted nominations, selected honorees recognized by SCEMSA, and digital certificates shared publicly.

This campaign is designed to recognize EMS professionals, increase engagement with agencies across the state, generate meaningful content during EMS Week, and reinforce SCEMSA’s role as a statewide leader while supporting awareness and recruitment.

Daily Recognition Categories

Sunday: Resilience in EMS Award

Who to consider: Individuals who remain consistent under pressure, support coworkers during difficult calls or shifts, and are known for reliability, composure, and professionalism.

Examples: Supporting peers after critical incidents, maintaining performance during high call volume or staffing challenges, or demonstrating leadership without a formal title.

Monday: Commitment to Education Award

Who to consider: Instructors, preceptors, field training officers, providers actively pursuing certifications or education, and team members who support ongoing training within the agency.

Examples: Leading or teaching courses, mentoring new employees, or advancing clinical or leadership education.

Tuesday: Safety Leadership Award

Who to consider: Individuals who consistently prioritize safety, promote safe practices on scenes and during operations, and influence others to follow safety standards.

Examples: Consistent vehicle and equipment safety checks, strong scene awareness and decision-making, or advocating for safety improvements within the agency.

Wednesday: Excellence in Pediatric Care Award

Who to consider: Providers who demonstrate strong pediatric care skills, are known for compassion and communication with children and families, or participate in pediatric training or initiatives.

Examples: Managing pediatric calls with confidence and care, supporting families during high-stress situations, or leading pediatric-focused education or training.

Thursday: Clinical Excellence Award

Who to consider: Providers demonstrating strong clinical decision-making, crews involved in high-impact patient care, and individuals recognized for consistent high-quality care.

Examples: Effective patient assessment and treatment, strong teamwork during critical calls, or positive patient outcomes supported by EMS care.

Friday: Team Impact Award

Who to consider: Individuals who strengthen their crew, support day-to-day operations, contribute positively to culture and morale, and consistently support coworkers and the agency.

Examples: Supporting teammates during challenging shifts or calls, contributing to a positive and professional work environment, or being a reliable and consistent presence within the crew.

Saturday: Community Impact Award

Who to consider: Individuals who engage with and support the community outside of emergency responses, represent EMS in a positive and professional way, and contribute to public education, outreach, or community initiatives.

Examples: Participating in community events or education efforts, supporting public safety or outreach initiatives, or serving as a positive representative of EMS within the community.

Who Can Be Nominated?

Nominees must serve in an EMS role within a South Carolina EMS agency or service, be directly involved in EMS operations or patient care, and be currently active or have served within the past 12 months.

Eligible roles may include EMTs, paramedics, supervisors, field leadership, field training officers, and personnel directly supporting EMS field operations.

What Agencies Need to Submit

  • Nominee name
  • Agency name
  • Role, such as EMT, Paramedic, or Supervisor
  • A short 3–5 sentence description explaining why the individual is being recognized and how they reflect the theme
  • A high-quality photo, preferred
