Beyond the street workshop

June 26 -27, 2024

The South Carolina EMS Association is proud to partner with Fitch & Associates in hosting the upcoming two-day workshop, Beyond the Street (BTS). This workshop is specifically designed for new and aspiring EMS supervisors who are seeking to enhance their management skills. The workshop will cover a range of essential topics, such as effective communication with different generations in the workforce, conflict resolution and building trust with peers, bosses and colleagues from other agencies. With a combination of lectures, case studies, and role-playing exercises, participants will gain valuable insights into the challenges faced by field supervisors, as well as strategies for navigating their role. 

Topics discussed in the course include: 

  • When to direct, when to coach and when to delegate 

  • Essential problem-solving skills 

  • Avoiding the endless to-do list and managing time effectively 

  • Successful ways to handle complaints and build customer satisfaction 

  • Navigating conflict 

  • Financial facts and strategies for front-line managers 

  • Taking your career to the next level

You are responsible for making your hotel accommodations, if needed.

TRAVEL: 
You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements. Charleston International Airport (CHS) is the closest airport to the facility and is approximately a 50-minute drive.

Program fee is $249 if paid in full by the early registration deadline. Registration fee increases after this date. Cost of this 2-day workshop includes both days, workshop materials, continental breakfasts and box lunches. The workshop runs 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Check-in and continental breakfast will be 7:30-8:00 a.m.
