EMS APPRECIATION CELEBRATION

On May 25, 2024, the South Carolina EMS Association (SCEMSA) hosted a memorable EMS Appreciation Celebration at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbia. This event honored the 50th Anniversary of National EMS Week and celebrated the dedication and hard work of EMS personnel across the state.

Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette honored the occasion by presenting the Governor's Proclamation for EMS Week in South Carolina, emphasizing the vital contributions of EMS personnel to our communities.

This groundbreaking event, the first of its kind, established a new tradition of honoring the dedication and sacrifice of EMS professionals in South Carolina and beyond. SCEMSA was proud to lead the way in fostering greater appreciation and recognition for the essential role EMS services play in saving lives and ensuring public safety.

Event Highlights:

  • Statewide Ambulance Procession: A remarkable display of solidarity and respect for EMS teams from across South Carolina.
  • Family Fun Day: Participants engaged in hands-on activities, including Stop the Bleed and CPR demonstrations, and enjoyed the interactive Touch-a-Truck display.
  • Live Concert: The crowd was entertained by performances from Taylor Ingle, Corey Smith, and The Frontmen, featuring Larry Stewart of Restless Heart, Richie McDonald formerly of Lonestar, and Tim Rushlow formerly of Little Texas.
