South Carolina EMS Association
Each year, the SC EMS Memorial Ride honors providers who have served their communities as EMS providers, and who have passed away. This year, the SC ride has partnered with the National EMS Memorial Ride's Southern Route. The Southern Route is a 7-day event which ends in Williamsburg, VA.
Days 1 and 2 of the Southern Route are being done with our SC Ride. Participants can choose to participate in Day 1, Day 2 or both. In addition, we'd love to see additional SC riders join us for the entire Southern Route. The SC ride will have its own jerseys, which will be similar but different from the Southern Route Jerseys. Day 1 will go from Columbia, SC to Florence, SC (approximately 94 miles). Day 2 will leave from Florence, SC and proceed to Whiteville, NC (approximately 82 miles). Florence was specifically chosen as a stop this year to honor Paramedic Sara Weaver, Florence County EMS, who was killed in the line of duty while at a motor vehicle crash. You can join at one of our rest stops if you want to ride a shorter distance.
If you would like to continue on for the rest of the week with the Southern Route in the national ride, you can get more details at https://nemsmbr.org/rides/southern/.
Registration Deadline: March 31
